Wordpress Website Design + Development

We have a wordpress website, currently, that sort of does the job. It's from a template, but we're looking for a website that can be a little bit more bespoke to what we're needing, as a football team. 

We have a store integrated, using Shopify, I'd like to keep both Shopify and Wordpress as the platforms for the store and the webiste but I'd like to overhaul the function and the design of the site. 

So this might suit someone who is capable of working with Wordpress templates, primarily. 

Key features I'd like to improve or develop.

Player stats database, live league table and fixture list - the information is available on 3rd party websites. Having clickable player profiles from team sheets and match reports. Ability to embed different media, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc into matchday section. 

Other than that, it's purely about having a nice sleek modern design.

Job Summary:
The Graphic Designer & Social Media Specialist is instrumental in growing the organization's reach and exposure through compelling graphics for print, social media content and digital communications. This position is tasked with designing the visual support for content and story lines that promote our services and builds the museum community of patrons. This includes print and digital, video, museum exhibition graphics, marketing collateral, events, and presentation materials. Job Responsibilities:
Graphic Design (50%)

NYU's Marketing Communications team is looking for a graphic designer with 2-4 years experience to work on-site and remotely on print and digital projects utilizing the master NYU brand identity.

The Marketing Coordinator for Creative and Visual Services (CVS) helps support the department's team of designers, content producers, photographers, and printing staff by verifying information, communicating with clients, providing quotes, assigning projects to staff, locating and collaborating with outside human and other resources, and providing the administrative services to keep the department's activities on schedule and within budget. We envision an abstract animation, without looking to childish. We unfortunately have a rather tight deadline, with the event being on the 13th of July.

Our first idea (but we are totally open for your creative input and ideas): We see darkness. A tiny dot of light appears. It wanders around, the background becomes dimly discernible. The point of light becomes a ball and dances down a staircase, falls - and lands in the close-up on a solar cell of the Sion. The light spreads out in lines in the cells. They are falling down on and illuminate the Sion. We zoom out and the car becomes visible. The camera turns, the Sion drives off. It follows the glimpse of light through an abstract 3D world. An urban Scenery pops up. The Sion takes in Passengers for Ride Pooling. They get off and the Sion drives out of the city. In an suburban area, it stops at a home. It is charged through a abstract wallbox. It takes in the power of the sun. It gets dark. The Sion illuminates the home, it gives back the energy. Like a battery on wheels. Sun goes up again. It drives off. It is parked and the passengers goes away using public transport. Another passenger uses it via the App. He/She collects friends and they drive off to nature. they power the tent for the night and the music box. We zoom out and see the whole scenery: an Escher like world, the 3 sceneriaos are like layered. The camera turns, we see the abstract world from above. The Sono Logo is part of the world, the Sion stand on it's center. The Ball of light illuminates the dot in the middle and the Logo and the car fade into light.

Most Scripts will be between 2000 and 4000 words, and I will be sending sections of the script to storyboard in 400-800 word sections.

WHAT YOU WILL DO?

The focus will be designing for a range of mediums - print, clothing, balls, sports goods and packaging are just part of the day-to-day. As part of a team, you will create content for websites, socials, digital outlets, work with sports clubs, athletes, brands, license partners and be part of player/product photo shoots. All assets are produced in-house, with design, photography, marketing, digital and collateral created by the team. In such a niche category, we don't expect people to have a lot of exposure/experience in what we do, but we do expect a great eye, teamwork and detailed approach to work ethic. It is fun and exciting, and rewards people who like to jump-in and be part of the project.

THE ROLE

Initially it will be 3 to 4 days a week part time with potential to go full time for the right person. Based in Geebung Brisbane ? A couple of minutes from Chermside Shopping Centre.

We are looking for a graphic designer who loves to jump in, give things a go and bring creative ideas to the role. Some of the things you will experience at SUMMIT Sport are:

  • Be exposed to international sports brands
  • Get to experience the inner workings of how sports equipment is designed and made
  • Play a role in developing brands, products, and marketing direction
  • Design sports equipment, clothing, print and digital media ? website, EDM, B2B, B2C,
  • Create social media content for a range of platforms
  • Work on and update websites with an emphasis on creativity and user experience (no need for coding experience)
  • Work in a fun team of creatives and product managers

THE IDEAL APPLICANT

  • A very strong work ethic with a self-driven attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills, to be able to meet deadlines across multiple tasks
  • Experience in file preparation. output and management for print, digital and web
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design)
  • Be able to follow and produce creative from style guides
  • Good communication skills and an eye for detail and design
  • Good writing and proofing skills
  • Ability to work on site for 3 to 5 days a week in Brisbane Geebung office

AMAZING IF YOU CAN HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING (but not super important)

?Experience in executing digital marketing assets, inclusive of designing for EDMs, social media and web assets

  • Understanding of Shopify platform
  • Photography skills
  • Digital Marketing background
  • SEO and understanding of Google analytics
  • Understanding of Pantone colour system and clothing design
  • Video editing
