Lead Graphic Designer - Hybrid Option (Remote/Onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery
  • Design original pieces, including illustrations and infographics
  • Refine images, fonts and layouts 
  • Generate ideas to portray concepts and advertise products/services
  • Increase user-friendliness in digital products
  • Maintain brand consistency throughout all our marketing projects
  • Liaise with marketing and business teams to ensure deadlines are met
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and tools

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Senior Designer, Graphic Designer or similar role
  • Portfolio of completed design projects
  • Hands-on experience with image editing software, like Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Proficient in design software (e.g. InDesign and Balsamiq)
  • Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts and layouts
  • Attention to visual details
  • Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team
  • BSc degree in Design, Visual Arts or relevant field

WHAT YOU WILL DO?

The focus will be designing for a range of mediums - print, clothing, balls, sports goods and packaging are just part of the day-to-day. As part of a team, you will create content for websites, socials, digital outlets, work with sports clubs, athletes, brands, license partners and be part of player/product photo shoots. All assets are produced in-house, with design, photography, marketing, digital and collateral created by the team. In such a niche category, we don't expect people to have a lot of exposure/experience in what we do, but we do expect a great eye, teamwork and detailed approach to work ethic. It is fun and exciting, and rewards people who like to jump-in and be part of the project.

THE ROLE

Initially it will be 3 to 4 days a week part time with potential to go full time for the right person. Based in Geebung Brisbane ? A couple of minutes from Chermside Shopping Centre.

We are looking for a graphic designer who loves to jump in, give things a go and bring creative ideas to the role. Some of the things you will experience at SUMMIT Sport are:

  • Be exposed to international sports brands
  • Get to experience the inner workings of how sports equipment is designed and made
  • Play a role in developing brands, products, and marketing direction
  • Design sports equipment, clothing, print and digital media ? website, EDM, B2B, B2C,
  • Create social media content for a range of platforms
  • Work on and update websites with an emphasis on creativity and user experience (no need for coding experience)
  • Work in a fun team of creatives and product managers

THE IDEAL APPLICANT

  • A very strong work ethic with a self-driven attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills, to be able to meet deadlines across multiple tasks
  • Experience in file preparation. output and management for print, digital and web
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design)
  • Be able to follow and produce creative from style guides
  • Good communication skills and an eye for detail and design
  • Good writing and proofing skills
  • Ability to work on site for 3 to 5 days a week in Brisbane Geebung office

AMAZING IF YOU CAN HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING (but not super important)

?Experience in executing digital marketing assets, inclusive of designing for EDMs, social media and web assets

  • Understanding of Shopify platform
  • Photography skills
  • Digital Marketing background
  • SEO and understanding of Google analytics
  • Understanding of Pantone colour system and clothing design
  • Video editing

What You Get to Do:

  • Work on the concepting and design driven execution of Softgoods graphic projects relating to overarching creative direction and industry trends
  • Brainstorm with the art team to build innovative ideas and solutions
  • Presenting out ideas and concepts in conjunction with category direction
  • Partner with design counterparts to ensure graphic assets follow along with the seasonal category & color direction
  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure designs meet the business needs and assist in hitting margin targets to support brand goals
  • Ensure proper handover of completed art specs to development, including original artworks, scale, color breakdowns, and execution information
  • Works within their team to drive meetings/presentations and achieve deadlines for their owned categories
  • Ensure efficient process and communication flow with cross functional teams for all issues regarding graphic art
  • Visualize ideas for products and ranges with a high degree of expertise.
  • Respond positively to feedback and provide constructive feedback where needed
  • Support any direct reports in order to continue to inspire and push design excellence

What You'll Bring to The Team:

  • 7+ years in a Softgoods art or design related role
  • Strong knowledge of graphic design, typography, pattern repetition, color theory, illustration, and/or content creation
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and visually articulate concepts and creative directions
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on projects with multiple timelines and remain calm under pressure
  • Self-motivator who can work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Expertise in the use of Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Experience with 3D software (CLO, Browzwear, etc) is a plus
